Suspected sockpuppets

  • All these accounts used to edit the articles, Bishnupriya Manipuri language and Bishnupriya Manipuri people predominantly. Their common behaviour is adding unsourced contents and removing already present information without any discussions or explanations. Most of them are dedicated to editing only at either of these two articles.
  • Their common usernames are using terms like "Singha", "Sinha" (either as suffix or prefix of the supposed main names in the usernames) or "BM" (short form of Bishnupriya Manipuri), etc.
  • Connection between User:Manipuri & User:Ashim2k — User:Manipuri says in his userpage like this

I work for bishnupriya manipuri wikipedia--Ashim Singha (talk) 04:50, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

He always uses the name "Ashim Singha" in place of his original username "User:Manipuri". Another account "User:Ashim2k" says the same thing in his talk page, like this:

My name is Ashim kumar singha. A writer and reseacher, software engineer by profession. Working in bpy wikipedia since 2006..

  • Connection between User:Manipuri & User:Dipita Sinha — "User:Dipita Sinha" is a recently created account doing edits diff here exactly similar to what "Manipuri" had done on the same day diff, diff, diff, diff - restoring the month-long ago previous version of the article again and again, without any discussions or logical explanations. Both accounts are saying the same thing in the talk pages, that "Bishnupriya Manipuri" should not be called "Bishnupriya Meitei", diff by "Manipuri" & diff and diff by "User:Dipita Sinha". (Needs "WP:DUCKTEST")
  • User:Yogaditya was adding unsourced information here diff about a deleted article Manoshi Sinha & User:Raja king333 was adding square brackets to the delinked Manoshi Sinha here diff and was the creator of the deleted article as evident from diff
  • Connection between User:Dipita Sinha (suspected sock of Manipuri) and other users, Leogirl24, Sinhasuvam and BharatiGraminUdyog — All these 4 accounts are doing edits only at Bishnupriya Manipuri language and people articles, adding unsourced contents or any sorts of vandalism. They don't edit articles on other topics.
  • Connection between User:Manipuri & User:Rajkumarrishi1 — Both users added blogspot & WordPress websites like http://bishnupriyamanipuri.blogspot.com/ , http://manipuriblog.blogspot.com/ , http://manipuri.wordpress.com , as evident from diff (by User:Rajkumarrishi1) & diff (by Manipuri). Like Manipuri, User:Rajkumarrishi1 is dedicated to editing Bishnupriya Manipuri language and Bishnupriya Manipuri people at most of his edits. (More similar behaviours might be there unexplored.)
  • Connection between User:Manipuri & User:Bishnupuriya — Both users are removing and adding lots of contents unexplained and copying and pasting here and there from one article to another. Unfortunately, some edit diffs of Bishnupuriya are oversighted by oversighters to avoid further copyright infringement issues.
  • Connection between User:Manipuri & User:Bmindia — editing the population data on the Bishnupriya Manipuri people (both of their datas aren't true in accordance to the present information verified in the article) - diff by Bmindia & diff by Manipuri. Both of them edited the population data to start the number with "3". According to Editor interaction, both users edited same article exactly 48 times each.

  • Most of these accounts are long stale. Some haven't edited in over 10 years. There's no value in investigating these old accounts. I've left a warning on User talk:Dipita Sinha and I see that I'm not the first one to have done so. Let's see where that goes before investing any more effort in this. Closing with no action taken. -- RoySmith (talk) 14:23, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
